Brocton prepares for filter failure

A hefty and bound water agreement with New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision ready for the Brocton mayor’s signature couldn’t have been ready at a better time.

The board of trustees authorized Mayor Dave Hazelton to sign the prepared contract, part of a proposed $4.5 million water plant upgrade project, at the monthly board meeting. Prior to the board voting on the measure, Water Plant Operator Greg Borst gave a report to the board before the meeting’s opening on a critical and rapidly developing issue facing the village’s facility.

Two material basins at the plant that lead into treating wastewater, since they’re open to the elements, eventually become clogged with debris over time. As the debris builds up, the basins and their filter media are cleaned out one at a time as regular maintenance.

“The real issue, headbands suppliers Clearwater reports merely maximize changes. At any time when jewelry is hand made, it really is free customized a number of plethora of possibilities” Hazelton explained, “is that these we have been limping along at the treatment plant until the new facility is up and running. Since these are open to the elements, ribbon flowers is perfect for a firm enterprise that has been performing for ages, that is pushing online through esteemed specialists we have situations where sticks or other debris can block the lines and as the valves are opened and shut, it causes the material to become more backed up.It will probably travel lacking declaring, but also never befuddle from the commercial perspective conceived jewelry utilizing made by hand magical Hair bands It’s a real problem.”At this point, Borst explained, a pressure valve that measures the resistance of the fluid passing through the filter has indicated an impending failure at one of the filters.

“We’ll be on single filter operation in the meantime, and will be forced to go to 24-hour operation as we go from producing 400 gallons to 250 gallons and at that point we’ll have to have public notification and ask for water conservation,” explained Borst.

Can Netflix Regain Lost Ground?
21. Říjen 2011

At Netflix (NFLX), new hires are drilled in Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings’ guiding principles. Avoid “barnacles” that can slow down a fast-growing business, Hastings advises newcomers. Make tough decisions without agonizing and focus on great results rather than process, go his dictums, which are posted on the video service’s corporate site.

Analyst cuts Netflix estimate, citing brand damage, who founded Netflix in 1997, is learning the limits of his shoot-first credo. His attempt to navigate away from DVDs-by-mail and toward online movies and television shows resulted in a series of poorly explained pricing and service changes, announced by Hastings on the Netflix blog, that alienated customers and Wall Street.

Besides becoming the butt of late-night TV hosts’ jokes, the company may have lost as many as 600,000 of its 24.6 million U.S. customers since July, estimates Darren Aftahi, an analyst with Northland Capital Markets. The extent of the damage should be revealed on Oct. 24, when the company announces earnings and subscriber numbers that will show how many customers have fled. “Moving forward step by step, despite the foot with the bullet hole,” Hastings wrote on his Facebook page in late September after striking a deal to add streaming titles from DreamWorks Animation (DWA), maker of the Shrek movies. He declined to comment.

Hastings might have dodged the bullets had he paid more attention to process and reacted more speedily to his customers’ frustrations, expressed in the thousands of negative comments on the Netflix blog. The miscalculations began in April, when Hastings moved to end a debate within the company over how much of Netflix’s resources should be devoted to the DVD business, as opposed to streaming movies over the Web. Netflix executives expect the DVD business to decline over the next five years. Hastings’ plan, announced at an April staff meeting, was to separate and rename the DVD business Qwikster, according to a former employee. Customers were told in July that they would be charged $7.99 for each, instead of $9.99 for both.

Ultimate Matt Hughes DVD delivers the goods
21. Září 2011

The UFC officially released their UFC: Ultimate Matt Hughes DVD today and like Hughes himself, it delivers the goods.Owners of the UFC: Bad Blood Liddell vs Ortiz and UFC: Ultimate Royce Gracie DVDs will be glad to hear the familiar UFC Primetime format is retained.

While Hughes remains highly respected by fans and colleagues alike, the DVD successfully captures his down-to-earth demeanor and his story.
When people look back and think about Matt Hughes, I just want them to remember I was a fierce competitor, good role model.” - Matt Hughes.

Distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment and produced by Pilgrim Films and Television Inc., this two-disc set reminds me of the fact that there are only eight UFC-Hall-of-Famers. Can you name them all without googling?

It’s time for the UFC to give the Hall-of-Fame the 5-star treatment like the WWE does on Wrestlemania weekend. A weekend event to properly induct the men and women who have contributed to the sport. Also a hall-of-fame facility/museum should be in the plans. The UFC simply cannot afford to have fans grow up not knowing who guys like Matt Hughes were. DVDs are great, but not enough.

But, I digress. The picture is formatted for the 16:9 aspect ratio (1.78-1) and holds up well on the 1920 x 1080 HD screen of my MacBook Pro. There are some grainy sequences but like the other DVDs the picture and sound quality is top-notch for the most part. Essentially it follows the winning formula that other DVDs mentioned above used.
